March 28 Health Update

Hi Friends:

I know you have all been anxious to hear how the pathology test went, and I apologize for the lagging in this post. However, the news was not great as two of the margins tested positive with more cancer cells. This means that some of the cells had indeed left the prostate. Once again, the waiting begins. Drac will need to have his PSA levels tested again. However, they cannot guarantee accurate results this soon after surgery so he will have to wait 4 weeks to do this test. Once we get these results we will know if he will need either chemo or radiation treatment.

The good news is - Drac got the catheder out and he is regaining strength and beginning to feel much better. His spirits are really great, and he is ready to deal with whatever comes next. He is still having trouble sleeping and gets it when he can, so he's still been slow on the phone. But he's trying to reach out to everyone he can to thank them for sticking with him and being so incredibly supportive through this.

Please stay close as Drac continues to need your support. He and his family are eternally grateful. ...And keep the blogging going, he really loves it!

Blessings,
Nancy

Aloha Drac,
I am having to retype my heartfelt comments to you that just got erased in cyberspace. This is my first ever blog attempt, so I had to create the account blah blah blah, and I am disheartened the first thing I wrote disappeared. Actually, I tried this before, but couldn't figure it out and deal. Easy for some, not for impatient me. That's why I try call. BUT YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!! Sending you lots of love, light and peaceful strength across the Pacific from Maui to LA via dolphins, whales and the deep blue sea. Know that I am thinking of you often and wishing you wellness and miracles of healing!!! I am in LA at the end of May. It would be good to see you, it has been a good number of years. But when you've known someone for 30 years, what's 5 or 7 that's gone by? Our lives are so precious. Memories, present future past. Your beautiful son has blessed you with rising to an occasion of love and purpose. Thank you for truly accepting the love of your friends. May your perseverence embrace the forward momentum of solution and finding the joy, day by day. Love to your mom and family. Aloha, Claire : )PS this better work this time!
